Indication: Bumetanide is prescribed for the treatment of edema (fluid retention) associated with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and renal disease, and hypertension (high blood pressure).

Class: It belongs to the class of medications known as loop diuretics.

Mechanism of Action: Bumetanide works by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys, leading to increased excretion of sodium, chloride, and water.

Formulation: Available in tablet and injection forms for oral or intravenous administration.
